Coaching Staff
Head Coach: Rand Payton
During his first year coaching, Rand was the 2023 USA Lacrosse Alabama Girls’ High School Coach of the Year! He quickly turned the SPHS Girls HS program into a successful team with state playoff appearances in 2024 (state runner-up), and 2025 (state semi-finals). He has fostered a culture where the team is truly family.
In addition, Rand is the Head Coach for the BLKOUT Lacrosse program, a competitive summer and fall travel club for Birmingham girls 6-12, established in Fall 2021.
Assistant Coach: Joe Thomas
Joe joined as the Assistant Coach in Spring 2025, providing offensive coaching assistance as well as video/technical operations and analysis.
